Magpie-lark
Grallina cyanoleuca

Magpie-larks inhabit open forests, lawns, farmland, wetlands, and suburban parks across much of Australia. They run across the ground to hunt insects, worms, crustaceans, and other small invertebrates, often near water or muddy ground. Pairs vigorously defend nesting territories with calls, chases, and aerial attacks. Males and females can be distinguished by their different black-and-white facial markings and calls.
