Slender Green-winged Grasshopper
Aiolopus thalassinus
The adult occupies open, sunny grasslands, cultivated fields, and dry, sparsely vegetated ground. It feeds on grasses and herbaceous plants, often resting low among stems between feeding bouts. Its greenish wings can carry it away in a quick, low flight when threatened, while its long hind legs provide an equally rapid launch.
