Gulf Fritillary Caterpillar
Agraulis vanillae (larva)

Gulf Fritillary caterpillars feed almost exclusively on passionvine in warm gardens, scrub, and woodland edges. They are slow-moving but conspicuous, with orange bodies covered in black, branched spines. By feeding on passionvine, they acquire defensive chemicals that make many predators avoid them.
