Wood Cricket
Nemobius sylvestris

The adult wood cricket inhabits moist woodland floors, especially beneath leaf litter, logs, and dense ground vegetation. It forages on dead vegetation, fungi, and small invertebrates, usually emerging most actively after dusk. Its rapid hops carry it through cluttered ground cover when disturbed. Males produce a soft chirping call by rubbing their forewings together.
