Red Longhorn Beetle
Stictoleptura rubra

Adults occur in sunny woodland edges, clearings, and flower-rich meadows near deciduous trees. They fly between blossoms to feed on nectar and pollen, while females seek dead hardwood in which to lay eggs. The red wing cases and long antennae make this beetle especially conspicuous among summer flowers.
