Snout Beetle
Chlorophanus viridis
Adult snout beetles inhabit grassy clearings, field edges, and low vegetation, where they feed on leaves and other soft plant material. They climb stems using strong feet and chew with mouthparts at the end of their long snout. Fresh adults are often covered in vivid green scales, though this color can wear away with age.
