Four-lined Silverfish
Ctenolepisma lineata

Four-lined silverfish live in dry, sheltered places such as leaf litter, beneath loose bark, rock crevices, and occasionally buildings. They are chiefly nocturnal, darting away into narrow cracks when disturbed. They feed on starchy plant material, fungi, dead insects, and other detritus. Their silvery scales and four dark lengthwise stripes give this quick, wingless insect its distinctive appearance.
