Garganey
Spatula querquedula

Garganeys inhabit shallow marshes, flooded grasslands, and quiet freshwater pools, especially where dense vegetation borders open water. They feed by dabbling and filtering small invertebrates, seeds, and aquatic plant material near the surface. A notably long-distance migrant, this small duck travels between breeding wetlands and wintering grounds in Africa and southern Asia.
