Stout Spanworm Moth
Lycia ursaria
Adult stout spanworm moths occur around woodland, scrub, and heathland, especially where their larval food plants grow. Males fly at night in search of mates, while females spend much of their time concealed against bark or vegetation. Adults have reduced feeding needs, and the female is notably much less winged than the male.
