Brown Spruce Longhorn Beetle
Tetropium fuscum

Adult brown spruce longhorn beetles inhabit spruce forests, especially where weakened, damaged, or recently cut trees are available. They emerge in warmer months, fly to suitable trees, and spend much of their brief adult life finding mates and laying eggs in bark crevices. Adults feed little compared with larvae, as the larval stage provides most of the energy needed for development and reproduction.
