Adult Psocid Lice
Psococerastis gibbosa
Adult Psocid Lice inhabit tree trunks and branches where lichens, algae, and fungi provide food. They use their fully developed wings to move between bark surfaces and nearby vegetation when conditions change or danger approaches. Despite the name, this species is a free-living bark-dweller rather than a parasite of mammals.
