Grey Bush Cricket
Platycleis albopunctata

The adult grey bush cricket inhabits dry grassland, hedgerows, heath, and scrubby field margins. It is mainly active in warm weather, climbing through vegetation to eat grasses, seeds, and small invertebrates. Males produce a characteristic rasping song by rubbing their forewings together to attract mates. Its grey, speckled colouring provides effective camouflage against dry plants and soil.
