Black Currawong
Strepera fuliginosa
The Black Currawong is a large, dark forest bird found mainly in Tasmania, from wet forests to alpine woodland. It forages on the ground and in trees for insects, berries, carrion, eggs, and small animals. A bold, ringing call carries through its habitat, and adults may swoop or harass intruders near a nest.
