Ring-necked Duck
Aythya collaris

Ring-necked Ducks inhabit freshwater marshes, lakes, and wooded ponds, especially where aquatic vegetation is abundant. They are diving ducks that feed underwater on seeds, tubers, aquatic plants, insects, and small crustaceans. Despite its name, the adult male's chestnut neck ring is usually difficult to see, while the pale ring around its bill is much more noticeable.
