Australian Flat Oyster
Ostrea angasi

Australian flat oysters inhabit sheltered temperate bays, estuaries, and reef areas along southern Australia. Adults remain attached to firm surfaces and filter phytoplankton and organic particles from the water. Their irregular, heavy shells can form dense beds that create habitat for other marine life.
