Lantern Bug
Eurybrachys tomentosa
The adult lantern bug inhabits warm wooded areas, resting on trunks, branches, and foliage. It drinks sap from host plants using its piercing mouthparts and is often most active around dawn and dusk. Broad, patterned wings allow short flights between feeding and resting sites. Its flattened shape and muted colours help it blend into bark and leaves.
