Straw-necked Ibis
Threskiornis spinicollis

Straw-necked Ibises inhabit wetlands, floodplains, irrigated fields, and open grasslands across much of Australia. They walk through shallow water and vegetation, probing with their long curved bills for insects, crustaceans, frogs, and small reptiles. During the breeding season, adults develop distinctive straw-like plumes on the neck and gather at large nesting colonies.
