Migrant Hover Fly
Eupeodes corollae

Adults frequent flower-rich meadows, farmland, gardens, and field margins, often hovering precisely beside blossoms. They feed on nectar and pollen, while females seek aphid colonies in which to lay eggs. This migratory hover fly can travel long distances and is an important pollinator as well as the parent of aphid-eating larvae.
