Beaded Sea Anemone
Heteractis aurora

Adult beaded sea anemones inhabit warm, shallow Indo-Pacific reefs and sandy lagoons, often with their columns partly buried. Their tentacles sting and hold drifting plankton, small fish, and other passing prey. The distinctive beads along the tentacles help identify this species, which may also shelter clownfish protected by a special mucus coating.
