Shiny Wolf Spider
Pardosa moesta

Shiny Wolf Spider is a ground-hunting wolf spider found in open woodland, grassland, heath, and other leaf-littered or stony habitats. Rather than building a capture web, it actively stalks small insects and other arthropods, relying on sharp eyesight and quick bursts of movement. It subdues prey with a bite and venom, while its mottled brown body helps it blend into the ground; females carry their egg sac and later transport newly hatched spiderlings on their back.
