Kissing Bug
Triatoma infestans

Adult kissing bugs live in sheltered cracks around homes, livestock enclosures, bird nests, and rocky habitats across southern South America. Mostly active at night, they use heat and exhaled carbon dioxide to locate a sleeping vertebrate and feed on blood with a piercing beak. Adults have fully developed wings and may fly to lights or disperse to new shelters.
