Long-tailed Blue Caterpillar
Lampides boeticus (caterpillar)
Long-tailed Blue caterpillars live on pea-family plants in warm grasslands, field margins, and gardens. They feed by chewing flower buds, young pods, and tender leaves. Their green, slug-like bodies blend closely with the host plant, and some are tended by ants attracted to secretions from the caterpillar.
