Blue-winged Grasshopper
Oedipoda caerulescens

Adults inhabit warm, dry grasslands, heaths, dunes, and other open ground with patches of bare earth. They graze on grasses and herbaceous plants, relying on stillness and camouflage when resting. When flushed, they launch into a sudden flight that reveals vivid blue hindwings before settling again some distance away.
