Cactus Moth
Cactoblastis cactorum
Adult cactus moths inhabit warm regions wherever prickly pear cacti grow. They are most active around dusk and at night, flying low through cactus stands to find mates and places to lay eggs. Adults have short lives and little or no feeding, while females place egg masses on cactus pads for the next generation.
