Australian Ghost Hopper Mantis
Archimantis latistyla
The adult Australian ghost hopper mantis occupies shrubs, small trees, and garden vegetation across parts of eastern Australia. It is an ambush predator that captures flies, moths, and other insects with rapid raptorial foreleg strikes. Its mottled body camouflage and broad wings help it vanish among dry leaves, though adults can fly short distances when disturbed.
