Rounded Snail
Gonyodiscus rotundatus

The rounded snail is a tiny terrestrial snail found in damp leaf litter, beneath logs, and on shaded limestone or old walls across much of Europe. It grazes algae, fungi, decaying plant matter, and biofilm with its rasping radula, usually becoming active in humid weather. Its flattened, finely ridged brown shell is only a few millimetres across and provides important protection when it withdraws from danger.
