Pullet Carpet Shell
Venerupis corrugata

Adults inhabit sandy and muddy seabeds in shallow marine waters, often remaining buried with only their siphons exposed. They filter plankton and fine organic matter from passing water. The strongly ridged shell can be shut tightly to resist predators and drying during low tide.
