Gray Bichir
Polypterus senegalus

Gray Bichirs live in slow-moving rivers, marshes, floodplains, and quiet freshwater pools across parts of Africa. Mostly active at night, they stalk insects, crustaceans, and small fish near the bottom. Their hard ganoid scales provide protection, and they can gulp air at the surface using primitive lungs.
