Hercules Moth
Coscinocera hercules

Adult Hercules moths inhabit tropical forests and woodland in northern Australia and New Guinea. They are mostly active at night, flying through the canopy to find mates. Adults have greatly reduced mouthparts and do not feed, living on reserves gathered as caterpillars; the female is among the largest moths in Australia, with a wingspan that can exceed 25 centimetres.
