Six-lined Racerunner
Aspidoscelis sexlineatus
The adult six-lined racerunner inhabits sunny, open areas with loose soil, sparse vegetation, and plenty of ground cover. It actively pursues insects, spiders, and other small invertebrates rather than waiting in ambush. Its exceptionally rapid, stop-and-go running style makes it difficult for both prey and predators to track.
