House Pseudoscorpion
Chelifer cancroides

The house pseudoscorpion is a tiny arachnid found in homes, barns, sheds, leaf litter, and beneath loose bark. It stalks small prey such as booklice, springtails, carpet beetle larvae, and mites, grasping them with enlarged pincers. Venom glands in its pincers help subdue prey, but it has no tail or stinger and is harmless to people. It often hitchhikes to new places by clinging to larger insects such as flies and beetles.
