Eastern Water Skink Juvenile
Eulamprus quoyii (juvenile)

Juvenile eastern water skinks shelter among leaf litter, rocks, and dense vegetation close to streams, ponds, and wetlands in eastern Australia. They forage actively for small insects, spiders, and other tiny invertebrates. Young skinks are wary and dart quickly into cover or water when threatened. Like adults, they can swim well, using their long tail to help propel them.
