Blotched Blue-tongued Lizard
Tiliqua nigrolutea
Adults inhabit forests, woodland edges, heath, and gardens across southeastern Australia, often hiding under logs or dense ground cover. Their broad diet includes snails, insects, fruit, fungi, and occasionally small animals. When threatened, this heavy-bodied skink opens its mouth wide, hisses, and displays its striking cobalt-blue tongue.
