Silver Argiope
Argiope argentata

Silver argiopes inhabit sunny scrub, gardens, forest edges, and open woodland across the Americas. They sit head-down in large orb webs, often decorated with a conspicuous zigzag band of silk, and wait for flying insects to become entangled. Prey is rapidly wrapped in silk before being bitten and consumed. Females are much larger than the small, often inconspicuous males.
