Slender Groundhopper
Tetrix subulata
The adult slender groundhopper inhabits moist grasslands, marsh margins, stream banks, and muddy open ground. It grazes on algae, mosses, and soft plant matter, escaping disturbance with sudden jumps or short flights. Its exceptionally long pronotum extends over the abdomen and helps break up its outline among stems and debris.
