Rosy Maple Moth
Dryocampa rubicunda

Adult rosy maple moths inhabit deciduous forests, woodland edges, and gardens with maple or oak trees across eastern North America. They fly mainly at night and rest quietly on bark or foliage during the day. Adults do not feed, relying on energy stored during their caterpillar stage while they seek mates and lay eggs. Their pink-and-yellow wings are a striking example of coloration in a silk moth.
