White Peacock Butterfly
Anartia jatrophae
The adult White Peacock Butterfly frequents sunny gardens, open woodland, roadsides, and disturbed tropical habitats. It flies low and swiftly among vegetation, visiting flowers for nectar while males patrol small territories. The pale bands and eye-like markings on its wings can startle or misdirect would-be predators.
