Western White
Pontia occidentalis

Western Whites fly through sunny meadows, roadsides, foothills, and other open western habitats. Adults drink nectar from flowering plants, while females seek mustards and related plants on which to lay eggs. The pale wings, marked with dark edging and spots, make this butterfly readily visible while it flutters between flowers.
