Long-tailed Weasel
Neogale frenata

The long-tailed weasel inhabits woodland edges, grasslands, farmland, and brushy areas across much of North America. It is an agile, persistent hunter that slips through dense cover and narrow burrows in pursuit of rodents, rabbits, birds, and eggs. Though small, it can take prey larger than itself with rapid bites and a flexible body. Its coat commonly turns white in northern winter populations, providing camouflage against snow.
