Brown Blowfly
Calliphora stygia
Adult brown blowflies occur around woodland, gardens, farms, and urban areas where carrion or other decaying organic matter is available. They feed mainly on liquids and may visit flowers, while females seek suitable remains on which to lay eggs. Adults are strong, noisy fliers and can detect carrion from considerable distances.
