Hag Moth
Phobetron pithecium

Adult hag moths inhabit wooded areas, forest edges, and gardens across much of eastern North America. They are mostly nocturnal and fly during the warm months to locate mates. Adults have reduced mouthparts and generally do not feed, surviving on energy stored during their caterpillar stage.
