Rose-breasted Grosbeak
Pheucticus ludovicianus

Rose-breasted Grosbeaks breed in deciduous forests, forest edges, and shrubby clearings across eastern North America. They forage in trees and dense vegetation for insects, seeds, buds, and berries, using their large bill to crush hard seeds. Adults migrate long distances to winter primarily in Central and northern South America. Breeding males are strikingly patterned in black and white with a bright rose-red breast patch.
