Red Turtle Dove
Streptopelia tranquebarica

Red Turtle Doves inhabit dry open woodland, cultivated land, villages, and grassy scrub across much of South and Southeast Asia. They forage mainly on the ground for grass seeds and grains, then fly into trees or wires to rest and watch for danger. Males are recognized by their pale blue-gray heads and distinctive black-and-white barred collar on the neck.
