Forest Raven
Corvus tasmanicus
Forest Ravens inhabit forests, farmland, coastal heath, and settlements across Tasmania and nearby islands. They forage on the ground and in trees for insects, eggs, small animals, carrion, fruit, and scraps. Adults defend feeding areas with harsh calls, pecks, and short flights. This large raven is Tasmania's biggest corvid and has a distinctive long, deep bill.
