Golden Dwarf Cichlid
Nannacara anomala

Golden dwarf cichlids inhabit slow-moving, plant-filled freshwater channels and flooded margins in Guyana. They pick through the substrate and vegetation for small crustaceans, insect larvae, and other tiny invertebrates. Males defend small territories with fin displays and short lunges, while females become especially protective when guarding eggs and young. The species is known for its variable yellow-gold breeding coloration and pronounced parental care.
