Yellow Shore Crab
Hemigrapsus oregonensis

Adults occupy protected rocky shores, mudflats, estuaries, and eelgrass beds along the Pacific coast. They forage as omnivores, picking at algae, carrion, detritus, and small invertebrates with their claws. Their squarish, mottled shell helps them blend into shoreline cover while protecting them from many predators.
