Mackenzie's Thin-legged Wolf Spider

Mackenzie's thin-legged wolf spider lives across northern North America, especially in open tundra, gravelly ground, and sparsely vegetated habitats. It is an active ground hunter that runs down small insects and other arthropods rather than building a prey-catching web. Its venom subdues small prey but is not considered dangerous to people. Like other wolf spiders, the female carries her egg sac and later transports newly hatched spiderlings on her back.
