Spiny Turtle
Heosemys spinosa

Adult spiny turtles inhabit humid lowland forests, forest streams, and swampy areas in Southeast Asia. They forage among leaf litter and along water margins for fruit, vegetation, fungi, and small animals. When threatened, they retreat into their hard, spiny-edged shell and remain still; the adult shell can grow to more than 20 centimetres long.
