Green Chiton
Chiton glaucus

Adult green chitons inhabit wave-washed rocks in shallow coastal waters, usually remaining firmly attached to the surface. They feed by scraping algae and other growth from stone with a toothed radula. Eight overlapping shell plates allow the animal to bend over uneven rock while retaining strong armor.
