Hamerkop
Scopus umbretta

Hamerkops inhabit shallow freshwater wetlands, riverbanks, marshes, and the edges of lakes across sub-Saharan Africa. They forage alone by walking through shallows and probing mud for frogs, fish, insects, and small aquatic animals. Their broad wings carry them between feeding sites, though they often hunt on foot. The species is famous for constructing huge domed nests from sticks, sometimes large enough for a person to stand inside.
